I Had No Idea How Much I Liked Turkish Bread and Kebabs

My wife and I found a new restaurant to try in Auburn. I about filled up on the complementary Turkish bread they bring to the table. It is a kebab place, and the food is right up our alley. I enjoy beef mince, and I like lamb kebabs too. Very good tasting meat. I like the wrap that is stuffed with meat and topped with lettuce, tomato and onions. I think we have found a new favorite place to eat. I do not get tired of it. I enjoy every single meal we have there.

I would never have thought that I would be a fan of Turkish food. I really could just eat a couple of baskets of the Turkish bread and be full. However, when the savory meat kebabs make it to the table, I am going to eat no matter if I stuffed myself with bread or not. I really enjoy eating bread. I would say it is a favorite next to my taste for kebabs. I like dipping the bread and eating it too. It has such a great texture and flavor. I Finally Had a Chance to See What Life on the Other Side of the World is Like

Dreaming of going overseas never really helped me when I was growing up because it didn’t happen. I just never had the chance. My family couldn’t afford it, school later got in the way and work got in the way. I married a guy who is from Australia, and we finally got a chance to go there recently. It was amazing! Our first night there, we had Turkish cuisine in Sydney which was a big surprise. My parents are from Turkey, and I miss the food that they made me when I was growing up. My hubby had been telling me about an amazing Turkish restaurant in his home city, and he promised to take me there.

It is easy to forget about the fact that that there’s a big world outside of your own country. It was very easy for me to not really think about that. So, when I finally did get a chance to go overseas, it was mindblowing to see this whole nother world out there beyond my own neighborhood and state. Traveling over oceans was fantastic. I kept thinking that we had crossed one already, only too look out the plane window to see that we were still over the same ocean that we were flying across one hour earlier. In all, it took 24 hours to get to my husband’s home country. What a flight.

Once we landed, there was so much to see. Life there was somewhat the same as mine, and life was also very different. I have always loved my hubby’s accent, and it was so interesting to be surrounded by people everywhere I went who all have the same accent. I loved taking in the culture wherever we went. The food is great there. Even driving around the different neighborhoods to see how everyone lives was a lot of fun, too.
